Crispy Halloumi Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 block (approx. 250g) GEBNA Grilling Halloumi

  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or standard)

  • A pinch of salt

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cheese

  • Take your block of GEBNA Halloumi and cut it lengthwise into thick, equal-sized sticks (like thick-cut French fries).

2. Set Up the Breading Station

  • Prepare three shallow bowls: one with the flour and a pinch of salt, one with the beaten eggs, and one with the breadcrumbs.

3. The Double-Coating Process

  • Take a Halloumi stick and dip it fully into the beaten egg.

  • Roll it in the flour until all sides are completely covered.

  • Dip the flour-coated stick back into the egg wash.

  • Finally, roll it generously in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently so the crumbs stick to the cheese. Repeat this for all the sticks.

4. Fry to Perfection

  • Heat a layer of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.

  • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated Halloumi sticks.

  • Fry them for a few minutes, turning them occasionally, until they are a beautiful, deep golden brown and completely crispy on the outside.

5. Serve Hot

  • Remove the fries from the oil and place them briefly on a paper towel to drain any excess oil. Serve immediately alongside your favorite sweet chili sauce, marinara, or garlic dip!
