Crispy Halloumi Fries
Ingredients
1 block (approx. 250g) GEBNA Grilling Halloumi
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or standard)
A pinch of salt
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cheese
Take your block of GEBNA Halloumi and cut it lengthwise into thick, equal-sized sticks (like thick-cut French fries).
2. Set Up the Breading Station
Prepare three shallow bowls: one with the flour and a pinch of salt, one with the beaten eggs, and one with the breadcrumbs.
3. The Double-Coating Process
Take a Halloumi stick and dip it fully into the beaten egg.
Roll it in the flour until all sides are completely covered.
Dip the flour-coated stick back into the egg wash.
Finally, roll it generously in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently so the crumbs stick to the cheese. Repeat this for all the sticks.
4. Fry to Perfection
Heat a layer of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated Halloumi sticks.
Fry them for a few minutes, turning them occasionally, until they are a beautiful, deep golden brown and completely crispy on the outside.
5. Serve Hot
Remove the fries from the oil and place them briefly on a paper towel to drain any excess oil. Serve immediately alongside your favorite sweet chili sauce, marinara, or garlic dip!
